WEDNESDAY NIGHTS:Bible Study, 7pm in the Youth/Young Adult Room
*We're trying something new! Some people refuse to watch certain movies and TV shows or refuse to listen to certain music because of its context. Well, of course! If it doesn't have a good message behind it, why would you? But how many times do we say, "Look past the negative and find the good in all things." Okay, maybe a stretch on some things.
As young adults, we should be practicing an open mind, being creative, thinking out of the box. We live in an age where everything has been twisted, justified, for our own pleasures!
Through it all, some of our media has had such an impact on lives, but we haven't understood it fully. "There is a reason why certain movies and books, like Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter, are so popular. They fill this void in our hearts that we know only God can fill. There's a mystical sense in all of it. We just need to find it," says Dallas Carter, Jr. in one of his Bearers of the Light classes.
And so we invite you to join us next Wednesday, March 24, our first official "MOVIE BIBLE STUDY". Our first movie will be Lord of the Rings. We ask that you watch the movie prior to March 24. If not by yourself, with a friend or with family. It's a great way to spend time with others as you learn more about the meaning of the movie. *DISCLAIMER: Because it is our first Movie Bible Study, we aren't sure of whether it'll take one session or more. We will be choosing movies as time progresses.*
